3 narrative storyboard
During the two weeks of learning storyboard, I learned a lot about how to create storyboard, such as the emotional change brought by visual effects, the process of making storyboard, and how to add stories to the storyboard.
In the first week, I learned a lot of knowledge, especially the group activity of mood board. In this activity, I learned the importance of mood board and used different aspects, such as the light texture character, to search a work. Careful analysis and in-depth analysis will bring a lot of harvest to find artists and works of similar style while bursting out my inspiration. Even if I analyze their color blocks and light and dark contrast, I can intuitively feel the emotional value and overall atmosphere contained in them.
These two weeks’ creation gave me a deeper understanding of narrative. In the conflict painting of cafe, I used to make the ending happy or life-like, but it could have been more dramatic, more dramatic and darker, and I could have imagined infinite possibilities rather than based on a plain ending.
In the second week, when I went to Tate Morden to sketch, observing and drawing in a very short time tested my observation ability, paying attention to their features and details, and capturing these moving people. This was an extremely challenging thing for me. In daily life, I focused on drawing in detail. However, I didn’t really observe these things with my eyes. It was also the first time for me to draw life-drawing outdoors, which made me learn a lot to observe their overall structure.

life-drawing
we go to the Tate museum to watch the manner and posture of a pedestrian, capture, and sketch in a short time. The earnest expressions of the exhibits, the rush to find a companion, the people chatting around the chairs, the pigeons eating lunch together, these details of life are worth stopping to see, to inspire the imagination to imagine their inner workings, to conjure up a story in our minds.

Meeting for coffee

This story is about a quarrel between two girls in the cafe house, the reason is that they drink special coffee in the cafe, one of the girls bought a new computer, but the other girl accidentally spilled coffee on the computer on the way to the toilet, which caused damage, and they had to consume 1004 pounds today. In this storyboard, I changed the camera for many times to show the emotional changes of the two protagonists to highlight the progress of the story. Under the teacher’s suggestion, if I had the opportunity, I would show the ending more diversified, such as darker.
Feedback:
Jane told me that my story don’t have a twist, it’s should have a bigger fight, so i think next time if i have any chance, i will make it more drama to let the audiences excited .
Mood board-[DARK- ALICE IN WONDERLAND ]
this mood board is a group work, and I made the first page – a color palette, we try to remake Alice in wonderland to become dark and creepy, so I research some references on the website like I find some Alice in Wonderland’s posters, and get the color palette, it’s very bright, very sharp, high contrast. Now, to close our thinking, i get some movies’ poster and some scenes, such as forest, dark room. those scenes’ color is very sombre to set the mood.

try to draw a picture to describe a mood, I try to describe fear.
This is a look-up shot to highlight the character’s fear and want to run away immediately.

this is Improvisational painting, remove as many materials around as possible, do not draw with the dominant hand, draw with eyes closed, feel the charm of lines, look at the still life from different angles, to feel, to experience the fun of painting.
